Herb Lundin started the company’s activities in 1975, developing over one million square
feet of retail properties throughout Southern California and Arizona. These centers have been retained for long-term investment and are managed by a management company affiliated with Lundin. Prior to formation of Lundin Development, Mr. Lundin originated the Retail Division of Grubb & Ellis-Los Angeles in 1970. While engaged in this capacity, he spearheaded major retail development projects including the highly successful Santa Monica Place (anchored by Macy’s and Robinson’s-May) developed by the Rouse Company in 1978. Santa Monica Place was the development catalyst for the now famous Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade, which includes leases to Victoria’s Secret, Max Studio and Clarks; all
part of the Lundin portfolio. Prior to Grubb & Ellis, Mr. Lundin was Director of Real Estate
for divisions of International Industries, Inc., and with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics, was an aerospace engineer.
Greg Bever joined Herb as a partner in 1989 and brings to Lundin Development 17-years
of commercial retail real estate experience from the corporate side. Mr. Bever, as an executive for 14 years with Safeway Stores, directed Safeway's real estate program throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska followed by an aggressive new store
expansion program for Safeway in Arizona. During three years with Albertson's, Inc.,
Mr. Bever, was responsible for new store expansion throughout Southern California,
and for two years he directed McCrory Stores, a western states expansion and property management program, for the J.J. Newberry retail store chain.
Michael Lundin is a California licensed broker, and a leasing specialist, who assists in company development projects. He has over 8 years of experience in the commercial retail real estate business and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and a Master’s degree from the Art Center College of Design.
From their Huntington Harbor offices, Lundin Development Company continues to pursue retail development opportunities, primarily in California, with current emphasis on rapidly growing Riverside and San Bernardino counties, including potential in the growing
Coachella Valley. |
